Liverpool Set Sights On £15m Rated Brazilian International

Anfield side keen on highly-rated centre-back.

Check in to Liverpool vs West Ham United

Liverpool have expressed an interest in Brazilian centre-back Dede according to the player’s agent. The 24 year old, who is also an AC Milan target, has been in fine form with his Rio based side Vasco da Gama and is perhaps seen by Brendan Rodgers as a long term replacement for Jamie Carragher, who is set to retire from the game this summer.

Rodgers has also been recently linked with Swansea City defender Ashley Williams, Ajax’s Toby Alderweireld and PSG’s Mamadou Sakho, all of whom would represent solid defensive signings for the Anfield boss.

Quite apart from Carragher’s impending retirement the Liverpool defence could do with strengthening. Rodgers has seemingly fallen out with Martin Skrtel, with the Slovakian starting just three Premier League matches in 2013. Uruguayan Sebastian Coates is yet to prove himself and apparently homesick so a move for Dede could be a wise one to consider.

One would imagine that Liverpool could struggle to beat AC Milan to sign the big defender, especially as it seems likely that the Merseyside club will not have Champions League football to offer the defender.

Vasco da Gama are apparently likely to be ready to do business when a bid in the region of £15m is registered.
