Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is set to stun Chelsea fans by turning down the offer to return to Stamford Bridge according to The Mirror.

The Portuguese boss is widely expected to leave Real Madrid this summer after seeing his side lose significant ground to Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title.

There have also been reports of significant unrest in the dressing room with Spanish newspaper Marca reporting in January that club captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos had informed club officials they would be handing in transfer requests should Mourinho remain in charge at the beginning of next season.

With Chelsea looking for a permanent replacement for interim boss Rafa Benitez, that seemed to pave the way perfectly for the Portuguese boss to return to the Stamford Bridge dugout.

Reports in recent days had suggested a deal was close after Mourinho held preliminary talks with the club but it now appears that PSG could hijack the move.

The Qatari-backed French club are keen to become the dominant force in European football and believe Mourinho to be the perfect man to lead them to glory.

They are set to tempt the Special One with a huge offer and the promise of significant backing in the transfer window.

A move to PSG would increase the hopes of Manchester United fans that Mourinho could one day take over from Sir Alex Ferguson.
