Welsh club to sign Spaniard on free transfer.
Swansea are set to secure the signing of Real Betis’ Jose Canas according to The Mirror.
The midfielder has been in fine form this season for club and has put in a number of impressive displays in La Liga.
That has been attracting the attention of a number of Premier League sides, including Swansea and West Brom.
But the Capital One Cup winners appear to have stolen a march on their rivals and Canas now looks set to arrive at the Liberty Stadium come the end of the season.
The Swans have agreed a pre-contract agreement with Canas that will see him join the club once his current deal with Betis expires at the end of the current campaign.
No official announcement will be made until May, with Betis still attempting to secure a Europa League finish.
The Spanish club are keen to ensure their side suffer no distractions in their end of season run in.
Canas helped Betis to a 5-1 victory over Granada last weekend which has seen them jump past Spanish Valencia into sixth position.
Canas is set to be the first of many new arrivals at Swansea this summer as boss Michael Laudrup prepares his team for the Europa League next season.
