Werder Bremen have stated their desire to extend Kevin de Bruyne’s stay at the club according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Belgian youngster has been enjoying a season out on loan at the Bundesliga side as his parent club Chelsea look for the player to gain some experience of first team football.

De Bruyne has been in impressive form for Bremen but that has not been enough to prevent them from slipping down the table.

The player’s performances have been attracting the attention of a number of Bundesliga sides.

Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg have expressed an interest in taking on the player’s services.

Reports in recent days suggested that Chelsea have told De Bruyne that he will not return to Bremen as the Stamford Bridge side are keen for him to gain experience at a higher level.

But the Bundesliga team have issued a response to such speculation insisting that they can prove themselves as the best team with which to help de Bruyne improve.

Bremen may find their words having come too late with speculation suggesting a deal may have already been agreed to send de Bruyne to Bayer Leverkusen as part of a deal that would see Andre Schurrle arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer.
