Dutch legend could help out club with goalkeeper crisis.

Check in to PSV Eindhoven vs Ajax

Former Manchester United goalkeeper could be set for a sensational return to football according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Dutch legend is currently working as the director of marketing at Eredivisie giants Ajax.

But the club are set to go into their critical match against PSV next week with just one fit goalkeeper.

Ajax manager Frank De Boer is reluctant to throw in one of the club’s youngsters for such an important tie and could ask Van Der Sar to don the gloves once more and take up a place on the Ajax bench.

Should Van Der Sar return to football, he would follow close on the footsteps of former Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier.

The former England international announced over the weekend that he was ready to help Combined Counties side Guernsey as they deal with an end of season fixture pile up.

Le Tissier is the honorary President of the club having been born in Guernsey and is ready to help the side out in their time of need.

Van Der Sar could now find himself faced with a similar call of duty presenting the possibility of the goalkeeper playing in his first game since hanging up his gloves in 2011.
