Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes his side can regain the Premier League title without making any additions to their current squad according to The Daily Mail.

The Italian boss watched as his side secured a 2-1 derby victory by defeating Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday.

But that result will be unlikely to have much of an impact on the race for the Premier League title with United still enjoying a twelve point lead over their city rivals with just seven games left to play.

After seeing his side’s performance against the league leaders, Mancini stated his belief that the current squad was strong enough to regain the Premier League title next season without bringing in any new players during the summer.

Mancini admitted that United deserved to win the title this season but pointed to injuries to some of City’s key players as the reason the club had failed to keep up with United this season.

The Italian boss insisted that the performance showed that the current gap between the clubs in the league was not representative of the strength of the two clubs’ squads.

Mancini stated that he is now focused on the club’s FA Cup semi-final game with Chelsea this coming weekend.
