Federico Macheda has reportedly expressed his belief that Wayne Rooney will be going nowhere this summer according to The Metro.

Rooney has been strongly linked with a move away from the club since being dropped for the club’s crucial Champions League last sixteen tie against Real Madrid.

Rooney was reportedly furious at being left on the bench and is ready to seek a move away from the club come the summer.

The player has found himself pushed down the Old Trafford pecking order since the arrival of Dutch striker Robin Van Persie last summer.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could now be ready to cut his losses on Rooney with the club having been linked with a summer move for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

A number of top European sides have been linked with offering Rooney an Old Trafford escape route.

The likes of PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all thought to be monitoring Rooney’s situation.

PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently urged Rooney to join him in the French capital.

But Macheda dismissed speculation Rooney could leave the club. The Italian striker insisted Rooney was emblematic of the club and would not find a better team to move to.
