Swansea are set to make an ambitious attempt to bring Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku to the Liberty Stadium according to The Mirror.

The Belgian youngster has been out on loan this season at West Brom where he has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances.

Lukaku is West Brom’s top scorer this season and no teenager has scored as many goals in the Premier League since a certain Michael Owen came on the scene for Liverpool.

Lukaku’s loan deal is set to finish at the end of the season and the striker is not expected to return to the Hawthorns.

While Chelsea still believe it is too early for Lukaku to go into the Chelsea first team, they are keen for the player to get experience of first team football.

The Stamford Bridge side would prefer it was at a higher level than that of West Brom and are looking to send Lukaku to a team that is playing in European competition.

That could well put Swansea in the frame as they are on course to play in next season’s Europa League following their Capital One Cup success. Swans manager Michael Laudrup is big admirer of Lukaku and is keen to pair him up with Spanish scoring sensation Michu.
