Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has admitted he is flattered by reports linking him with a summer move to Barcelona according to Goal.com.

The German centre-back has become a key part of the Dortmund team that has successfully negotiated its way to the semi-finals of this season’s Champions League.

Hummels is rapidly establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the game following some impressive performances for Dortmund which have not gone unnoticed elsewhere in Europe.

Barcelona are known to be in the market for a new centre-back this summer as they begin to prepare for life without their ageing captain Carlos Puyol.

The Catalan giants are keen to bring in a defender who will be able to adapt to Barcelona’s passing brand of football and have reportedly identified Hummels as their ideal replacement for Puyol.

Hummels insist he is happy with life at Dortmund and is keen to retain his focus on helping the club finish the current season strongly.

But he has admitted that a summer approach by Barcelona could be too good to turn down.

Hummels insists he would turn down 99.9% of offers but states that Barcelona are one of the two or three teams to which he would consider making a summer move.
