Check in to Fulham vs Chelsea

Fulham boss Martin Jol has revealed he is keen to extend Giorgos Karagounis’ stay at Craven Cottage according to Sky Sports.

The Greek veteran arrived at the club last summer and since gone on to become something of a cult hero amongst the club’s fans.

Karagounis has put in a number of impressive performances this season for the club that belie his age and Jol is keen to ensure Karagounis remains at the club for the next campaign.

The Greek international signed arrived from Panathinaikos and reports in recent weeks have suggested that the club might try to bring him back to Athens but Jol is keen to see the player playing in West London next season.

Jol stated his belief that Fulham had time on their side as no club is going to bid £5m or £6m for such an old player but he insisted that he did not want to become complacent and see Karagounis leave for pastures new.

Karagounis revealed that he is enjoying life at Fulham and has settled well in West London. He stated that he has been impressed by Fulham and that they are a great club to play for.

Karagounis expressed his satisfaction at testing himself at the highest level in the Premier League.
