Man City could still win title, says Manchester United star

Old Trafford club desperate to avoid a repeat of last season.

Manchester United midfielder Antonio Valencia has admitted the club are concerned about their diminished lead at the top of the Premier League table according to The Independent.

The Old Trafford club were enjoying a fifteen point margin at the Premier League’s summit before City’s 2-1 derby victory over the club reduced that margin to just twelve points.

The lead is still substantial but so was Manchester United’s eight point lead at a similar stage last season which eventually saw the side capitulate and allow City to go on and secure their first ever Premier League title on the last day of the season.

Valenica has admitted that the club are worried the same might happen again this season despite the club’s lead being even bigger this time around.

It would require a staggering sequence of events for United to fail to lift the title this time out with the club needing just three wins and a draw to secure the 20th title.

Three of their remaining seven league games are at Old Trafford and it would be a surprise if the club failed to pick up all three points against relegation threatened Aston Villa and a Swansea side cruising their way to the end of the season.
