Italian side preparing a summer bid for Benfica’s Nemanja Matic.
Juventus are preparing to join Manchester United in the race for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic according to talkSport.
The midfielder has become a key part of the Benfica team that is currently sitting top of the Portuguese Premier division.
Matic has been integral for the team, setting up a number of goals for his team mates from the middle of the park.
Matic joined the club in 2011 after failing to make the grade at Chelsea. Matic made just two appearances for the Chelsea first team before being used a makeweight in the deal that brought Brazilian defender David Luiz to Stamford Bridge.
But it now appears that Chelsea could have missed a trick with Matic having put in a number of accomplished performances for the Portuguese giants.
Benfica are aware that Matic’s displays have not gone unnoticed and are preparing themselves for summer bids from Europe’s top sides.
Benfica are in a strong negotiating position with Matic as the Serbian international currently has a contract with the club that runs until 2018.
The Portuguese side are in no hurry to sell and are likely to demand a figure in the region of £15 million if they are to be persuaded to part ways with the midfielder.
