Serie A Club Warn Chelsea And Man City That Edinson Cavani Will Cost £60 Million

Premier League clubs need to stump up the cash for Cavani.

Napoli have told Chelsea and Manchester City that they will have to cough up £60 million if they are to have any hope of landing star striker Edinson Cavani, talkSPORT understands.

Both Premier League sides have been linked with a summer move for the Uruguayan international as he has continued his ascent into becoming one of the world’s best strikers.

Earlier this week he suggested that a move away from the San Paolo could be a possibility, though his agent, Claudio Anellucci, quickly moved to cool any potential transfer talk.

“Edinson never said he wanted to leave Napoli. It’s nice to think that there is all this interest on him, it means he must be doing very well,” he said.

However, that didn’t stop Anellucci agreeing with the club’s valuation of the player; President De Laurentiis spoke of €70m. I also believe that this may be the correct valuation of the player.”

It’s premature to talk about it now but I think it is right that a player like Cavani, who wants to win, would ask the club about their expectations for the future.”

Napoli president, Aurelio De LAurentiis is known for his eccentric behaviour but it seems that most agree with his valuation of the 26-year-old. Cavani has scored 31 goals in 36 games so far this season and it will only be a matter of time before a club come in with a concrete offer for him.
