A number of clubs are set to be disappointed as Falcao unlikely to move.
Radamel Falcao is likely to stay at Atletico Madrid for at least one more season, as his pregnant wife says they want their child to be born in Madrid, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Colombian striker is one of the most sought-after players in Europe after a fantastic season with Atletico Madrid, with Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all linked with the 27-year-old in the past few months.
However, as the former Porto man and his wife are expecting their first child together, they are apparently keen on staying put in Madrid for now.
His wife, Argentinean singer Lorelei Taron said: “The baby will be born in Spain. We are not moving.
“Our doctor is here, we are very happy.
“Madrid is a city that I am in love with and Radamel is very happy here.”
However, Atletico’s arch rivals Real Madrid are also reported to be interested in Falcao, and they will now be favourites to land the forward if he favours staying in the Spanish capital over a move abroad.
This will be bad news for Chelsea in particular, who are on the lookout for a new striker to replace £50million flop Fernando Torres this summer. It is rumoured that they will now turn their attention to Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.
