Inter Milan Star Hints At Possible Future Tottenham Transfer

Inter Milan defender Alvaro Pereira would welcome a reunion with Andre Villas-Boas, according to his agent.

The agent of Inter Milan left-back Alvaro Pereira says his client would be interested in playing under Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Flavio Perchman told Tuttomercato that he knows nothing of a rumoured interest from Spurs, but that there is a chance the Uruguayan could move next season if Inter do not decide to keep him.

Pereira was in the Porto side that won the treble under Villas-Boas two years ago, and was tipped to join him when he took over at Chelsea last season.

His agent says that for now Pereira is happy at the San Siro, but admits he would be tempted to reunite with his old boss, with whom he enjoys a great ‘rapport’.

“At the moment we are relaxed, as Alvaro signed a contract and it is his intention to stay with Inter until 2016,” Perchman said.

“Our intention is to stay in Milan, but it is obvious that an offer from a top European club would be evaluated if the Nerazzurri decided to let him go. The decision on whether or not to lose Alvaro Pereira is above all Inter’s.

“I don’t know anything about Tottenham, as we haven’t had contact with Spurs. I can say that the rapport between Pereira and Andre Villas-Boas is excellent from their experience together at Porto.

“After all, last year there was talk of Alvaro as a possible signing for Chelsea when Villas Boas was there.”

Stories emerged yesterday that Villas-Boas was keen on signing a new left-back this summer to replace Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The Portuguese coach has used Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Naughton in that position this season, but would like a specialist for that position.

Pereira only joined Inter last season, but has not been a regular for the Italians. The promise of regular first-team football at White Hart Lane, as well as playing under AVB, could help seal the deal for Spurs.
