Ex-Arsenal Midfielder Alex Song Is A Shock Target For Tottenham

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas considering bringing ex-Arsenal midfielder to White Hart Lane.

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song could be set to leave Barcelona after just one season with a shock return to the Premier League with Tottenham.

The Daily Mirror claim that the Cameroon international is one of Spurs’ top targets this summer, in a controversial move that would see the ex-Gunner line up for their rivals at White Hart Lane.

Song only left the Emirates Stadium last summer after one of his best seasons with the club. Despite impressing Barca enough to sign him for £15million, he has been unable to break into the team’s talented midfield, and has spent much of a frustrating season on the bench at the Nou Camp.

Just recently he had been linked with a quick return to Arsenal due to a buy-back clause in his contract, though Arsene Wenger moved swiftly to deny these rumours, but he could live to regret it as his former player could now line up for their North London rivals.

Tottenham already have two former Arsenal players on the books at White Hart Lane: Emmanuel Adebayor joined the club last season after spells at Manchester City and Real Madrid, and ex-Gunners captain William Gallas joined on a free transfer in 2010.

Song has also been linked with PSG and Inter Milan, and was advised by his old boss Wenger to try to fight for his place at Barcelona for at least one more season.
