Chelsea are the latest club to express interest in Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez according to the Daily Express.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is apparently keen to bring in reinforcements to strengthen his Stamford Bridge attack and may well be ready to call time on Fernando Torres’s misfiring spell at the club to make way for the former Udinese man, who has himself struggled for form this term.

Adaptable 24 year old Alexis has hit the back of the net just four times in La Liga this term but has provided ten assists and shown an improved level of work-rate but could well be a player Tito Vilanova considers offers for, not least as Barcelona have offered David Villa a new contract.

Sanchez was a much prized performer prior to his move to Barcelona, which could end up costing the La Liga side as much as £33m, but a decent offer could be accepted by Vilanova this summer.

Alexis Sanchez netted 15 goals in his first term at Barcelona.

Chelsea could be looking to sign a new forward and have been linked with a number of prospective purchases, with the likes of Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani repeatedly being connected with apparent interest from the Premier League side.
