Brazilian in trouble after regrettable fancy dress choice.

QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar is in trouble with his boss, Harry Redknapp, after photo’s emerged of him wearing a Chelsea shirt, the Daily Mirror reports.

The 33-year-old attended a party to celebrate the birthday of Chelsea’s David Luiz and allowed himself to be photographed with his family all apparently in fancy dress. The picture was then uploaded to social media network Instagram where it was spotted by QPR’s fans and bosses.

A club spokesman soon released a statement revealing that the Brazilian was in big trouble:

“The club is aware of an image of Julio Cesar circulating on social networking feeds today (Tuesday 23rd April). The image, which appeared on an instagram account, has since been deleted. The club will be dealing with this issue internally.”

The former Inter man also released a statement of his own via the club’s official website saying:

“I would like to clarify that last night I attended David Luiz’s fancy dress birthday party and as a joke for my friend, my family and I dressed as him.”

“I want to assure everyone that absolutely no offence was intended.”

With Rangers’ Premier League status in the balance, it’s becoming increasingly likely that he won’t be at the club in the near future, but after the tough season that The Hoops have endured fans can be forgiven for seeing this incident as a slap in the face.
