Barcelona are set for a summer squad shake-up according to ESPN.

Despite cruising to within touching distance of a La Liga title the Nou Camp side are apparently ready to conduct something of a clear-out in order to garner funds needed to make big name additions.

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu insists Vilanova will continue as manager of the Catalan side next term and has stated that a number of changes to the club’s squad are in the offing.

“We will make four or five signings,” he said. “We must shake up the squad. We will bring in players from Barca B. There are certain positions that need to be strengthened.”

On talk of a move for Brazilian starlet Neymar he added, “The signing of Neymar is not done,” he explained. “Barca do have an interest in signing him. If he has not come yet, it is because he has a contract with Santos and we have no news that he wants to leave.”

As well as interest in the 21 year old Santos forward Barcelona have their sights set on £23m million-rated Inter Milan custodian Samir Handanovic, who would presumably seen as a replacement for wantaway keeper Victor Valdes, and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels with Vilanova desperately needing quality central defensive additions this summer.

This source claims that Barcelona will listen to offers for a number of their squad with first team squad regulars David Villa, Alexis Sanchez, Alex Song and even Cesc Fabregas apparently all being made available for the right price.
