PSG believe they have tempted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to return to his native France to take over at the Parc des Princes according to the Daily Telegraph.

This source cites Le Parisien who report that the 63 year old manager is due in Paris for talks next week with a view to the Gunners boss taking over from Carlo Ancelotti in the summer, with the Italian said to be set to take over from Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.

Wenger has just over a year to run on his current Arsenal deal and could be ready to leave the Emirates Stadium side and may be even more likely to accept such a call if his North London side fail to secure a Champions League berth.

PSG’s Qatari owners have spend huge sums of money over the past two years putting together an expansive squad that looks set to clinch their first Ligue 1 title in almost two decades. Perhaps more impressively the club have also mounted a real push for Champions League prominence by making their way to the Champions League quarter-finals before losing narrowly to Barcelona.

After eight silverware-less years Wenger may be inclined to seek a new challenge and a move back to France 19 years after he left to make a mark in management elsewhere could be on the cards.
