Canadian international wants to jump ship.

Check in to QPR vs Arsenal

QPR winger Junior Hoilett has become the latest star to declare his desire to leave the club following their demotion to the Championship, the Daily Mirror reports.

The 22-year-old has made a limited impact this season and wasn’t able to help Rangers from sliding towards the trap door making just 24 appearances and scoring twice.

However, he believes that his abilities belong on a higher platform than the Championship and is just one of a number of stars expected to exit Loftus Road this summer.

“Of course I want to stay in the top-flight. Every player does. It has been a tough – there is no doubt.

“All I can do is learn from the situation and come back stronger.”

Holiett was heralded as a big signing last year when he joined QPR amidst rumours of a switch to Arsenal. He wasn’t able to help Blackburn retain their Premier League status and left Ewood Park on a free transfer once relegation was confirmed.

There’s a chance that he will be on Harry Redknapp’s list of names to clear anyway as his £50,000 a week contract would be one of the primary targets to offload, especially when his form has suggested little to warrant it.

He hopes to move on from a nightmare season, though, and wants to push on and get back to his best.

“My form has dipped. It is not entirely surprising given the circumstances, but you can’t look back.”
