Arsenal On Alert As Julio Cesar Could Leave QPR For £5m

QPR would be willing to sell goalkeeper Cesar for £5million.Arsenal may reignite their interest in QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar, with the club willing to part company with the player for just £5million.

The Metro claim the Brazilian is interested in remaining in Europe, despite talks of a return to his native Brazil, and Arsenal have been close to signing the player before.

The 33-year-old moved to Loftus Road this summer from Inter Milan, but he admitted a few months ago that he was close to joining the Gunners, before rejecting them for a move to Rangers.

He may be regretting the decision now, as Harry Redknapp’s side have been unable to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season, despite some strong performances from Cesar in the process.

With their drop to the Championship, they will surely have to deal with the loss of several big-name players this summer. Arsenal have been linked strongly as well to Loic Remy, who only joined QPR from Marseille in January.

However, Arsenal’s priority has to be a goalkeeper, with the drop in form of Wojciech Szczesny prompting rumours of an exit for the eccentric Pole. Numerous other names have been mentioned as being targets for Arsene Wenger, but Cesar may be one of the cheaper options available.
