Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair could be set for a surprise return to Swansea Michael Laudrup offering him a way out of his bench nightmare, according to The Express.

The 24-year-old joined City from Swansea in a £6.2 million move last summer but has failed to make an impact at his new club managing just 14 appearances across all competitions for last years champions.

He had been linked with loan moves to Everton and Aston Villa in the January transfer window but nothing materialised and now his former club have offered him a lifeline ahead of a proposed busy summer for both sides.

Michael Laudrup didn’t have the chance to work with the Olympic winger but has confessed that he is a fan of the player by saying: “Good players for those positions are always an option and Scott has a British passport, which is another thing we have to look at in an overall perspective.

“ He has quality and he has already shown it. Every player wants to play regularly, but he is good enough for the Premier League.”

The Swans will be preparing for a busy campaign next year after qualifying for the Europa League.
