Mexican striker Javier Hernandez could leave Manchester United this summer as part of a swap deal, as the Red Devils look to land Atletico Madrid youngster Elliot Kebbie, according to the Daily Mirror.

United have been strongly linked with Atletico star Radamel Falcao, though a deal now seems unlikely. Still, with the in-demand Colombian likely to leave this summer, the La Liga club are keen to land Hernandez as a replacement.

The 24-year-old has had a frustrating time of late as he has struggled for first-team football at Old Trafford this season due to the form of Robin van Persie, and United are said to be willing to let him leave as part of an exchange deal.

The deal would see Atletico youngster Elliot Kebbie move in the other direction. The former Leeds United youngster joined the Spanish outfit two years ago, but would welcome a return to England. Sir Alex Ferguson had been interested in Kebbie before, but decided against signing him when he was 16.

Kebbie can play at right-back or midfield and his versatility would be useful to Ferguson as he looks to reshape his squad for next season. A number of changes are rumoured to be made in United’s midfield and attack.
