Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is not optimistic that star striker Michu will play for the club again this season, after suffering an injury blow against Manchester City.

According to This Is South Wales, the Swans boss believes that the hamstring injury picked up by the Spaniard in his side’s 0-0 draw with City will be enough to keep him out for the final few games of the campaign.

“I don’t know how bad it is, but I think that will be Michu’s last game this season,” he said.

The 27-year-old came off for Laudrup’s side in the 69th minute, and it is a sad end to the season for arguably the revelation of the whole season.

The forward arrived in the summer from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano for just £2million, and has delighted Swansea fans with a return of 17 Premier League goals.

The talented frontman has also been instrumental in the Swans’ success in the Capital One Cup, scoring in the club’s semi-final win over Chelsea and in the final against Bradford City.

Michu has already been linked with moves to bigger clubs, so Laudrup will be hoping this isn’t the star’s last ever game for the club.
