Toffees boss to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson as Old Trafford boss.

Check in to Everton vs West Ham United

Everton boss David Moyes is to take over from retiring Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson according to Goal.com.

The 50 year old Toffees boss will be out of contract in the summer and has been heavily linked with a move to replace his fellow Scot and looks set to do just that in a matter of days.

This source claims such a move could take place within the next 24 hours as Man United look to swiftly appoint a new manager following Sir Alex Ferguson’s announcement to retire as manager after over 26 years in charge of the Old Trafford side.

Moyes joined Everton in March 2002 and on a shoestring budget has done a tremendous job at the Merseyside club, guiding the Goodison Park side to four top six finishes in his ten completed full seasons in charge.

Everton currently sit in sixth spot in the Premier League, just seven points shy of a Champions League berth.

This source claims that Man United’s playing staff have already been told of the move to name Moyes as Ferguson’s successor.
