Blues stopper high on priorities for Bruce.

Check in to Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

Premier League new boys Hull City are targeting Birmingham City centre back Curtis Davies this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Steve Bruce is preparing for life back in the top flight following last weekend’s automatic promotion and he wants to raid his former club for Davies.

The 28-year-old joined Blues in 2011 from Midlands rivals Aston Villa after a series of serious injuries halted his progress in claret & blue, forcing the club to take a hit on the £9 million they’d spent on him when he joined from West Bromwich Albion.

However, Davies has managed to get his career back on track despite Birmingham’s struggles on and off the pitch by making over 100 appearances for the club and scoring 12 goals, proving that he hasn’t lost that goal-scoring touch.

The London born stopper has gained significant experience in the Premier League during his eight year spell in the Midlands, and Steve Bruce has recognised that Hull will need an abundance of top flight know how if they are to stand any chance of surviving next year. The Premier League has moved on at a frightening pace since they were last in residency, and there is a fear that they may fall behind before they even kick a ball.

Davies, who has also been linked with Norwich City, is likely to cost any interested parties around £1.5 million.
