Arsenal are said to have reached agreement on personal terms with long term target Stevan Jovetic.

Arsene Wenger has tracked the 23 year old Montenegro international for months and with Arsenal and Fiorentina close to agreeing a price for the Serie A forward it seems as though Jovetic is closing in on a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Having netted 27 goals in 55 starts over the past two seasons Jovetic has garnered a great deal of attention from a host of prospective suitors but the stylish forward is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League despite apparent interest from a host of sides in the Italian top tier.

Arsenal have offered Jovetic a contract said to be in the region of £100k a week, a significant step up from his Fiorentina salary, and will hand the marksman a four year contract.

The move will make Jovetic one of the club’s top earners and put him in the same wage bracket as Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski. Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his attack and is seemingly a big admirer of the former Partizan Belgrade star.

Though Arsenal haven’t struggle to score this term, notching up 67 goals in 36 Premier League matches thus far, a fair portion of those goals have come from creative midfielders and wide attackers with Santi Cazorla being the club’s leading top tier goal-scorer.

Wenger wants to bring in a player who can adequately replace Robin Van Persie and clearly feels that Jovetic is a man who can grow into the role and make a real impact in the English top tier.

Arsenal are keen to sell Nicklas Bendtner, Park Chu-Young and Marouane Chamakh with Arsene Wenger also thinking long and hard about the future of Gervinho, who has managed just nine goals in 46 Premier League appearances for the North London club.
