Tottenham Winger Gareth Bale To Trademark Goal Celebration

Heart hands celebration set to be merchandised.Tottenham winger Gareth Bale is hoping to trademark his now famous ‘heart’ goal celebration, The Telegraph reports.

The 23-year-old has flashed the heart symbol 26 times this season and he is now set to make it his own by trademarking it and putting on his own brand of merchandise.

The filing at the Intellectual Property Office claims that he wants to put the logo, along with his squad number, 11, on a variety of products and the ‘list of goods’ is quite staggering, reading:

“Precious metals and their alloys and goods in precious metals or coated therewith, not included in other classes; jewellery, precious stones; horological and chronometric instruments, parts and fittings for the aforesaid goods.

“Leather and imitations of leather, and goods made of these materials and not included in other classes; animal skins, hides; trunks and travelling bags; umbrellas, parasols and walking sticks; whips, harness and saddlery.

“Clothing, footwear and headgear.”

It is registered in his name along with the The Stellar Group Limited sports management company.

Bale has had a successful year winning both PFA player of the year and young player of the year awards this year and is now looks set to market himself as a brand ahead of what is sure to be a speculation laden summer for the Welshman.
