Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is at odds with the club’s board over whether to make a move for want away QPR forward Loic Remy, according to the Daily Star.

Wenger is an admirer of the QPR star and wants the board to give him the go ahead to make a move but they have other ideas, preferring Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony instead.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have scored more goals than Bony this term, who has 31, and he will be available for the low price of just £7 million. Arsenal will have competition him, though, as both West Ham and Newcastle are said to be interested in securing his services.

Remy has a relegation release clause of only £6 million in his contract and Wenger is highlighting his low fee and now proven Premier League ability in a bid to win the board round.

However, Arsenal are also said to be targeting Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic this summer and were only put off from making a move for the Montenegrin in January due to his poor injury record, but they are set to reignite their interest in him at the end of the season.
