Inter Milan are the latest club to be linked with the former Arsenal man.
Inter Milan will go head to head with rivals AC Milan for out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to Forza Italian Football.
The Spanish playmaker has endured a difficult time at the Nou Camp since moving in 2011 from Arsenal, playing second fiddle to the likes of Xavi and Andres Iniesta, prompting rumours that he could leave the club this summer.
A return to Arsenal has been suggested, as they have a buy-back clause in his contract, though the 26-year-old has moved to distance himself from these rumours, as he may feel he has a better chance of winning silverware elsewhere.
Many clubs now seem to be monitoring his situation, and Inter Milan are making a playmaker of his kind a priority this summer, having already been linked with Real Madrid’s Luka Modric – another player who has struggled to make an impression since swapping the Premier League for La Liga.
AC Milan are also keen on Fabregas, but it is also thought that his preferred move would be to reunite with former Barca boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich next season.
He certainly won’t be short of suitors, and it looks increasingly likely that a flood of offers will come in for the Barca man this summer.
