Check in to FA Cup Final: Manchester City vs Wigan Athletic

Manchester City goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon has suggested that the FA Cup final appearance this weekend could be his last for the club, according to The Express.

The 26-year-old has been told by Roberto Mancini that he will be starting ahead of regular number one Joe Hart at the showpiece event following his involvement in every round this season, but he has been unhappy at his all-round lack of first team opportunities.

The Romanian international has made no appearances in the Premier League this term and it is believed that he will seek a meeting concerning his future after the encounter with Wigan.

“I am looking forward to Wembley but I don’t know if Saturday will be my last game for the club. It depends on what happens. I am only sure that I want to play. That is what is best for me,” he said.

“The manager of Romania’s national team tells me every time I speak to him, ‘Please try to play more’. So it is also important for my country, as well as for my career.”

“I am young, not 35 or something, waiting to finish my career. My agent will discuss it with the manager and we will see what happens.”

Pantilimon joined City last summer after impressing during a loan spell the previous season. However, he has made just 11 appearances since joining from Romanian outfit FC Politechnia Timisoara.
