Man City will this summer attempt to tempt AC Milan into selling their prized asset Stephan El Shaarawy according to Italian source CalcioMercato.

Roberto Mancini is reportedly keen on the talented young Italian international and is willing to make a bid in the region of £30m for the 20 year old during the upcoming transfer window.

The Man City boss may well be keen to freshen up his attack with growing speculation that Edin Dzeko will be sold and the Etihad Stadium future of Argentine Carlos Tevez very much up in the air.

It would be a major surprise if the San Siro side considered offers for El Shaarawy but then last summer owner Silvio Berlusconi angered many Rossoneri supporters by accepting bids from PSG for both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, arguably the club’s two most effective players.

El Shaarawy has made the most of Ibrahimovic’s departure, making a real impact this term as the club’s main attacking threat, at least until Mario Balotelli joined in January to offer the club another option up front. The ‘Pharaoh’ has scored 19 goals in all competitions thus far this term and has only recently signed a new long term deal.
