Jesus Navas on Mancini’s wish list.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is targeting a summer swoop for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, according to talkSPORT.

Mancini is thought to be eager to begin rebuilding as soon as possible and will begin to make moves as early as next week to set the wheels in motion over several prospective deals.

The Italian manager has recognised that his side have suffered from a lack of natural width with the signing of Scott Sinclair not working out as well as he had hoped. The former Swansea man is set to depart at the end of the season and the 27-year-old Spanish international has been identified as the ideal replacement.

Navas has a buy out clause in his contract that requires interested parties to pay a minimum of £30 million, but the club are said to be willing to listen to offers of around £25 million.

However, City will be hoping that he has finally overcome the acute homesickness that has dogged his career so far. The condition, which has improved, has seen him leave training camps with the national side and sit out of training camps with Sevilla.

Arsenal are also known to hold an interest in securing his services and Chelsea came close to bringing him to England back in 2006.
