QPR manager Harry Redknapp has identified Celtic striker Gary Hooper as the man to fire the West London club back up to the Premier League next season, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form for the SPL champions this term bagging 29 goals in 48 games and has previously been linked to the likes of Norwich City and Aston Villa this summer. The former particularly, after coming close to agreeing an £8 million deal during the January transfer window.

It has been suggested that Hooper may leave the Glaswegian side this summer should the right offer come along and Harry Redknapp is hoping to persuade him to swap the green and white hoops for blue and white instead.

QPR face a mass exodus ahead of the start of the new campaign and fears his squad may be left threadbare.

The club still have cash despite relegation and will have the funds of the sale of Loic Remy to make use of once a suitable buyer steps forward.

Hooper is reportedly waiting on a new contract at Celtic but the club will most likely look to cash in on him. However, Redknapp may have a job on his hands to convince him to swap the Champions League for the Championship should a bid be accepted.
