Man City are reportedly confident of securing deals to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and Malaga starlet Isco according to the Daily Mirror.

This source claims that Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini is set to be named as Man City’s new boss and that he may well welcome this pair of top notch signings as the first of his Etihad Stadium reign.

Young Spaniard Isco is apparently closing on a move to join the Premier League side with Man City ready to trigger the player’s £27m release clause so that the La Rosaleda talent can follow his boss to the club.

The 20 year old playmaker has had an excellent season, being particularly effective in Champions League action, and widely considered one of the best young talents in European football

Man City are also set to meet Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani’s £52m buy out clause, a move that would see the Premier League big spenders set a British transfer record.

Cavani is the top-scorer in Serie A this season and has netted an astonishing 103 goals in 137 appearances for Napoli since his 2010 move to the San Paolo.

Man City Director of football Txiki Begiristain has apparently put in a great deal of ground work over the past few weeks to move these deals nearer completion.
