Brazilian collapsed on the way to airport.
PSG sporting director Leonardo was rushed to hospital yesterday after collapsing on the way to Le Bourget airport, the Daily Mail reports.
The 43-year-old was forced to miss the club’s title celebrations that evening after being admitted to hospital, where he spent the night recovering.
The big spenders clinched their first title since 1994 with a 1-0 victory over Lyon, and French newspaper Le Parisien speculates that ‘fatigue or stress’ may have brought on Leonardo’s sudden turn. He spent the night in Hôpital American de Paris in the district Neuilly sur Seine.
This came just hours after a candid video was released of him in a heated exchange with star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede refused to break off the celebrations with his teammates to take a drug test. The 31-year-old’s 27 goals played a major part in securing the title for the club but he is expected to seek a move away from the French capital this summer, just one year after joining from AC Milan.
Leonardo had been in a spot of trouble of his own after being provisionally suspended having been alleged to have barged a referee following the 1-1 draw with Valenciennes last week and PSG’s French title will not be officially confirmed until a disciplinary panel decides whether to sanction a points deduction.
