Chamakh welcomes link with former club.

Check in to Troyes AC vs Bordeaux

Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has confessed that he would be interested in a return to Bordeaux as his future in North London looks set to come to an end, Sky Sports reports.

The 29-year-old is currently on loan at West Ham where he has failed to impress after featuring just three times since joining in January.

And he believes that his Arsenal career is over after falling down Arsene Wenger’s pecking order and has admitted that he misses life in France since moving to the Premier League in 2010.

“I am always nostalgic. I spent so many good times here,” he said during a visit to the region for a charity event.

“Everyone knows that Bordeaux is a club that is in my heart. If I find an agreement with Bordeaux, why not.”

When asked if a deal really might be possible, he replied: “Yes, this is possible because there is a good chance that I will not stay at Arsenal.”

“If I come back to France, it will be in Bordeaux.”

Chamakh spent eight years with Bordeaux between 2002-10 where he made over 300 appearances, scoring 76 goals. He had been tipped for big things in England but failed to come to terms with the demands of the league and hasn’t made a significant contribution since his first year with Arsenal.
