5. Napoli

Napoli are being linked with the recently-sacked Roberto Mancini, as they are likely to lose their current manager Walter Mazzarri to Inter Milan this summer. Mancini is said to welcome a return to Italy, but it might be a bit culture shock moving to a club without the financial power of City that is sure to sell star player Edinson Cavani this summer.

4. Inter Milan

Inter are said to be considering the future of current manager Andrea Stramaccioni after a poor season in Serie A. Currently 9th in the table, they are said to be lining up a move for Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri, who has done well to guide his team to 2nd in the table. However, with the promise of Champions League football next season, there’s no guarantee Mazzarri would necessarily accept a switch to the struggling San Siro side, so they could turn to Mancini, who enjoyed great success in his time at Inter between 2004 and 2008.

3. Borussia Dortmund

With Jurgen Klopp impressing so many with his work at Borussia Dortmund over the last few years, the German coach could be a target for a number of top clubs this summer – as have been many of his players. With a summer of change ahead at Dortmund, perhaps Mancini could be a candidate to keep Dortmund competitive in the Bundesliga.

2. Monaco

Perhaps the favourites to attain his services at the moment are big-spending Monaco. Claudio Ranieri has guided the team to promotion from Ligue 2, but may not be seen as the man to take the club to the next level in the French top flight next term. Mancini would also bring the bonus of having worked with Monaco player targets Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko.

1. PSG

There is likely to be a managerial vacancy at PSG this summer, with Carlo Ancelotti being approached by Real Madrid as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Jose Mourinho. Mancini would likely fancy the chance to inherit a strong team with a great deal of financial power, as he did at City. However, he will be expected to build quickly on the success brought by Ancelotti, who delivered the Ligue 1 title this season. A repeat of his failure to spend money well and deliver trophies at City would certainly not be welcomed in Paris.
