The agent of Aston Villa’s Andreas Weimann has confirmed that his client will leave the club this summer and would prefer to remain in the Premier League, according to the Metro.

The 21-year-old has had an impressive season for Aston Villa, despite their relegation fight, scoring 12 goals in all competitions, and is keen to move on to a bigger club next year.

The Austrian’s displays have attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, and it is thought that the Reds may lead the way for the youngster’s signature.

Weimann’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and his agent Rob Groener says they may still negotiate with the club before meeting with other Premier League sides.

“Andi will stay in the Premier League but at which club I don’t know,” said Groener. “There are offers but we’ll first meet Villa.”

Weimann could be the second big player Villa lose this summer, with Christian Benteke being linked with a number of top clubs following a fantastic breakthrough year in English football.

The Belgian striker is also a target for Arsenal, as well as Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
