Check in to Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland

Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer star man Gareth Bale a whopping new pay deal in a bid to fend off interest from elsewhere, according to the Daily Mirror.

Bale is on the fast track to becoming one of the best players in the world right now after a successful season has seen him pick up double PFA awards, bag 25 goals and catapult Spurs to the verge of Champions League football.

Real Madrd have been strongly linked with a move for the Welshman, whilst it is now believed that new Manchester United boss David Moyes will enter the race for his signature this summer.

However, Spurs are confident of keeping hold of their most prized asset by offering him a bumper new contract that will see him earn £170,000 a week.

Bale is already tied to the club until 2016, but the new deal will add a further year on and double his pay. The 23-yearold will sit down with the club’s representatives after this weekend’s final game of the season to thrash out the new terms and Bale’s management team believe the talks will be positive as the envisage few problems.

Spurs will need to beat Sunderland and hope that Arsenal slip up against lowly Newcastle United if they are to secure Champions League football next season.
