Manchester United are preparing a bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus. The final whistle is still echoing from last night’s Champions League final but the vultures are already circling over Dortmund’s impressive team.

The Bundesliga giants know they have already lost Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich with Robert Lewanowski set to follow him out of the exit door.

Dortmund may now have to come to terms with another of their star players heading for the exit door.

Reus has been highly impressive for Dortmund this season and his performances have not gone unnoticed by Europe’s top sides.

New United boss David Moyes is keen to put his own stamp on the United first team and has reportedly identified Reus as one of his top summer targets.

Moyes is thought to be unimpressed by the club’s current options out wide. Portuguese winger Nani is expected to leave the club this season after a number of inconsistent displays. Ashley Young has failed to replicate his form for Villa at Old Trafford while Antonio Valencia endured a dismal season over the last twelve months.

Valencia will be given another chance considering he won the club’s Player of the Year trophy the previous season but Moyes is keen to provide himself with more options in the wide midfield areas.

Though Borussia Dortmund lost their Bundesliga crown to Bayern Munich and suffered defeat to their arch rivals in the Champions League final it’s been a hugely successful first season for Reus at the Westfalenstadion side with the 23 year old scoring 18 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions this term.
