Monaco look set to continue their massive spending spree as German source Zeit claim that the newly promoted Ligue 1 side are set to announce a trio of new additions.

Having already signed FC Porto pair Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez the principality side, managed by Claudio Ranieri will reportedly sign Atletico Madrid goal machine Radamel Falcao, Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes and Real Madrid wing-back Fabio Coentrao.

27 year old Colombian international Falcao is said to have undergone a medical and will join for a fee in the region of €60m (£51m), proving quite an astonishing capture given the number of Europe’s ‘Elite’ who had been tracking the free scoring striker who has netted 70 goals in two seasons at the Vicente Calderon.

The fee to sign Barcelona keeper Valdes is thought to be substantially less as the experienced keeper has just a year to run on his current contract and had publicly stated his intention to leave the Nou Camp.

Fabio Coentrao will apparently cost Monaco €18m (£15m) with the wing-back thought to be out of favour at the Bernabeu and likely to find first team football even less of a guarantee with Jose Mourinho leaving the Bernabeu this summer.

Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is clearly keen to see his side challenge for the Ligue 1 title and will hope his investment can help get Monaco to the top table of European football, namely the Champions League.

Clearly the chance to move to tax free Monaco is going to be quite a lure for a number of top level players so it’s likely other stars will make their way to the Stade Louis II stadium before the summer is out.
