Under fire Magpies boss Alan Pardew will hope to lure QPR pair Loic Remy and Christopher Samba this summer according to the Daily Star.

The St James’ Park side apparently see 29 year old Samba as an ideal replacement for captain Fabricio Coloccini, with speculation rife that the centre-back will return to his native Argentina.

The Congo international is currently on a £100k a week deal at Loftus Road and Newcastle United may be wary of forking out quite such a high salary but there is perhaps a chance the former Blackburn Rovers man would accept a pay cut to secure a return to the top flight.

Newcastle United will look to finally lure Remy to the north-east having failed in January to sign the French international. A deal was said to be in place to sign the then Marseille man but the speedy forward opted instead to join QPR but failed to prevent Harry Redknapp’s side from suffering relegation to the Championship.

Nonetheless Remy was a success, scoring six goals in 13 starts to finish the season as the club’s top-scorer.

With Papiss Cisse having an up and down campaign and Pardew certainly missing Demba Ba following his January move to Chelsea, a move to bring in the 26 year old Frenchman would be a wise option to consider.

Newcastle United have been told it would take around £20m to land the Super Hoops duo.
