Bayern Munich have confirmed that they are to release veteran midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk on a free transfer this summer but will reward Franck Ribery with a new deal, Sky Sports reports.

The 34-year-old joined the Bundesliga winners from Zenit St Petersburg in 2009 after impressing in a squad containing Andreiy Arshavin and Pavel Pogrebnyak and though he always performed admirably he saw his influence on the squad diminish in the previous two seasons.

Bayern are still on course for a historic triple this season and face Stuttgart in the German Cup Final, and club executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that the Ukrainian international will bow out after the final.

“Tymo has told us he will be leaving our club. He will be looking for a new destination himself and will do so after the German Cup final against VfB Stuttgart,” he said.

But on the other hand, Rummenigge also confirmed that the club would be offering star man Franck Ribery a new deal.

“Franck’s situation is different. He has told us that he would be glad to sign a new contract and may consider retiring from the game a Bayern Munich player. We have a great relationship with him and are fully aware of his skills and quality.

“We don’t have anything against signing a new deal with him!”
