Monaco are preparing to make an audacious bid for Chelsea’s John Terry according to The Telegraph.

The Ligue 2 Champions are causing shockwaves throughout the football world as they continue to make a number of highly impressive signings.

The club have already announced the signing of former Porto pair Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.

Atletico Madrid’s Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is expected to join them in the coming days after having completed a medical with the club.

The principality club are currently owned by wealthy Russian business tycoon, Dmitri Rybolovlev and are proceeding to assemble a squad capable of challenging for honours on both domestic and European fronts.

They have reportedly identified Terry as the man to lead them to glory, as Monaco boss Claudio Ranieri knows the Chelsea captain well from his spell at Stamford Bridge.

Monaco are awaiting the outcome of talks between Terry and newly appointed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to determine their chances of signing the former England captian.

Terry and Mourinho are known to share a good relationship together but it is thought unlikely that Mourinho will keep Terry at the club should he not envisage a place for him within his squad.

Should Terry arrive at Monaco, that raises the prospect of a reunion with his former centre back partner Ricardo Carvalho, who is rumoured to be on the verge of signing from Real Madrid.
