Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic has denied reports that he could be set for a summer move to either Manchester United or Manchester City, according to Sky Sports.

The 24-year-old has been one of many impressive Dortmund performers in the last few seasons, which has seen him linked with a move away along with many of his team-mates.

Star youngster Mario Goetze has already left the club for Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, and top scorer Robert Lewandowski is widely tipped to follow. However, Subotic has insisted he is happy to stay where he is under the guidance of manager Jurgen Klopp, whom he also worked with at previous club Mainz.

“In January I signed a new three-year deal and I plan to stay,” he explaind. “It is a great risk when a player changes his club – how will you get around, who will be your manager, how long will you remain, how many of the players will be sold. Because of all that I really believe that Dortmund is the best club for me.

“I have had the same manager for the last five seasons, the players don’t change a lot and that is so important in football.”

The Serbian put in a great display for Dortmund as they lost a closely-fought Champions League final against Bayern Munich, and United and City are both keen to add defenders to their squads this summer.
