Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder has issued a come and get me plea to his former mentor Jose Mourinho according to Goal.com.

The Dutch playmaker joined the Turkish club during the January transfer window but has struggled to make the expected impact on the team and could be set for a move away from the club just six months later.

Chelsea officially announced one of the worst kept secrets in football on Monday with the appointment of Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese boss parted ways with Real Madrid.

Mourinho is keen to get to work straight away and is reportedly already drawing up a list of potential targets.

It is thought that the Special One may well look to sign a central midfielder with the club currently reliant on the ageing Frank Lampard.

That has prompted speculation linking Mourinho with Sneijder as the pair know each other well from their time together at Inter Milan.

Sneijder has now fanned the flames but confirming that the pair have kept in touch since Mourinho left the San Siro to join Real Madrid, the Dutch star refused to play down rumours he could be set to join his former boss at Stamford Bridge.

Galatasaray may well be willing to allow Sneijder to leave with questions having been raised about his fitness since he joined the club.
