Ligue 1 side Marseille have made an offer to Arsenal to take former Lille forward Gervinho to the club on loan next season, according to the Daily Express.

The 26-year-old made just 12 Premier League starts this season in another disappointing campaign for the Gunners. Having seemingly failed to settle in to English football, he is still wanted back in France, where he first made a name for himself with Le Mans and Lille.

Lyon have also been monitoring his situation, and have made offers both to take him on loan and to sign him permanently, and it is unclear as of yet what Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger plans to do with the player.

The Gunners have been linked with several attacking players in this summer’s transfer window, and a decision on Gervinho may depend on who Wenger manages to bring in to the Emirates Stadium.

Other sides linked with Gervinho include Turkish duo Galatsaray and Fenerbache, and it seems increasingly likely that his time in England will be coming to an end, as he joins other flops Marouane Chamakh, Nicklas Bendtner and Andrey Arshavin out of the Arsenal exit door this summer.
