Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has traveled to Paris in order to complete his planned move to sign £20m rated Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain according to the Daily Mirror.

Re-elected president Florentino Perez has stated publicly that the 25 year old Argentine will leave this summer and Wenger has entered talks with Higuain’s father, who also acts at his agent.

Jorge Higuain has admitted that Arsenal are not the only side chasing his son but the meeting with Wenger is said to have gone well.

The French born forward struggled to retain a spot in Jose Mourinho’s first team starting eleven but has still managed to amass 122 goals in seven seasons at the Bernabeu and could well be the ideal man to help beef up a Gunners attack that could with a more prolific marksman spearheading the front-line.

Wenger has backed Olivier Giroud and has seemingly no intention of offloading the French forward even though he managed a moderate total of 11 goals in his first Premier League season.

Higuain is one of a number of players said to be on the Arsenal radar with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Stevan Jovetic also said to be top Gunners targets.
